Connecting SPDIF cable from soundcard to hard drive? - hard drive with spdif out
I just got a Sound Blaster Live! X-players from my team. I followed the instrucitons and part of it is to connect a cable from the SPDIF output of the hard disk Sound Blaster connection. The fact is that my CD is no exit for the cable entry
Do I need this, connected my sound card work?

It's hard to believe that a SPDIF cable is connected to a drive. Are you sure you read the instructions properly?
This is an audio cable and hard drives have no sound at all.
You better not look at you, you can take the CD or DVD, but never the hard drive
